Girls Football

Our talented female footballers in years 3-6 have been training on Wednesdays to prepare for an upcoming tournament. Lewis, a representative from Jamie Carragher Soccer School, is teaching our girls the skills needed to become great footballers, including teamwork and ball control.

Freerunning Y1-4

Our Freerunning club was so popular last term, that we have introduced a similar club for our younger children. The club runs on Mondays and is provided by experts from the Airborn Academy.

Freerunning is an increasingly popular sport which uses acrobatic movements and urban areas as its backdrop.

Our children will learn the fundamental skills of Freerunning through various routines. They will benefit from greater fitness, body awareness and increased confidence.

Cheerleading

This Summer term we have introduced a cheerleading club, which is run by Alex from Airborn Academy. She will be teaching Level 1 skills, including synchronicity, timing and jumping. Go Team Bedford!

Speed Stacking

Our speed stackers meet every Tuesday after school and we have some very talented members. Every week the stackers try new routines, time their efforts and strive to beat their personal best time. The stackers also organise inter-group stacking activities - and the competition can become very intense and exciting!

Our stackers will be competing at various competitions where we are quietly confident they will do brilliantly.

Freerunning

This term our children are taking part in a Freerunning after school club on Mondays provided by experts from the Airborn Academy.

Freerunning is an increasingly popular sport which uses acrobatic movements and urban areas as its backdrop.

Our children will learn the fundamental skills of Freerunning through various routines. They will benefit from greater fitness, body awareness and increased confidence.

Fencing

For the first time in our school's history, we have put on a fencing club on after school on Mondays, run by a fully qualified fencing coach! We have enjoyed using the different types of swords, known as foil, sabre and epee, and we have also learned how to lunge and advance, as well as striving towards such key elements of fencing as respect, discipline and effort. En garde!

KS2 Dance

On Tuesdays, 'Strictly Come Dancing' comes to Bedford, with children from KS2 learning an array of dances including the jive and the cha cha. Lindsey Chellew, a qualified teacher and dance instructor, has been working on a special dance with the children, which will be performed at Bedford's Pop-Up Christmas Boutique on Thursday 8th December - save the date!

Dance & Ballet

Children from Reception and KS1 are totally enthralled by the magic of music and dance at their weekly sessions. Our budding ballerinas and delightful dancers don their tutus each week to learn steps and follow movements, ensuring that they are learning new skills, keeping fit and having fun!

Jamie Carragher Football

Our love of football at Bedford Primary is still very much alive, and once again we welcome weekly sessions with the coaches from the Jamie Carragher Soccer School. Every Wednesday, children learn new skills and improve on their individual techniques, as well as learning respect and teamwork - vital skills for any budding footballer to possess!
