Fundraising - Our school needs YOU!

B.E.S.T. (Bedford’s Enrichment & Support Trust) is our school’s registered charity which was set up in January 2008 to help fund facilities and resources for the families of Bedford Primary and our local community.

Currently, BEST is trying to raise a substantial amount of money to support the building of a self contained family room within our school grounds. This facility, intended to support families and the local community by offering a place to go, a regular timetable of adult and family friendly activities and services. Current plans suggest the build will cost in the region of £250,000 so every penny we raise really counts!

If you can spare a few hours, every now and again to support the work of our BEST charity, please let us know. Whether you have links to local businesses, bake cakes, are willing to sell raffle tickets, help out at a school disco or have new ideas and suggestions for events and activities that you think our families would enjoy, we would very much like to get you on board.

There is so much more we can offer and achieve with your help.
We are always looking for new BEST Friends and welcome your support, whatever your talent, we NEED you!

The BEST charity’s trustees are:

Bedford’s BEST Friends are an ever growing group of people made up of our families, local community partners and staff who have offered to support the BEST Charity, whether it be volunteering their time to support events or giving us opinions on new initiatives.

Our BEST Friends group has two aims.

• To provide a range of none profit making fun family events.
• To help raise funds for Charity projects.

During 2009 we held a number of successful events made possible with the wonderful support of our BEST Friends group, many of these events helped to raise funds to support the work of our BEST charity;

• Our Easter craft evening produced some very creative Easter bonnets.
• A summer table sale which raised the incredible amount of £1000 including our raffle takings.Our First Family Fun Trip to Gulliver’s world In Warrington
• A Halloween disco which raised £331.
• A Children’s Fashion show which not only gave our pupils the opportunity to be catwalk models for the evening but also raised £580.
• A sing and dance along with Santa and Christmas Treasure hunt which raised £524 Including our raffle takings.
• Our photography club have recently designed this year’s Bedford Calendar which is on sale at the school office for £6 and all profit is being donated to the BEST charity fund.
