Trips

At Bedford we pride ourselves on delivering a broad and balanced curriculum that is greatly enriched through a wide variety of experiences. All activities are designed to ensure that learning is real, vibrant, motivational and exciting. We place great emphasis upon learning beyond the boundaries of the classroom and we are keen to use educational visits as powerful catalysts for learning. Visits are organised throughout the year and form an important part of our children’s education.

Our 'Learning Away' experiences provide children with high quality learning opportunities which embed residential learning experiences as a fundamental element of the school curriculum and an entitlement for our pupils. Many of these are based at CHET, using the fantastic facilities they have to offer and using external partners and practitioners to further enrich the activities. Our aim is truly to bring the curriculum alive for the children.

Many of the activities are provided free or are part funded by the school and requests for voluntary donations from families. No child will be discriminated against if they are unable to make the voluntary donation. We hope you will support us as we embark upon this exciting project as we firmly believe it will support the education of our pupils. We also aim to provide parents with occasional opportunities to join us and the children at the venue for special events.

Summer Term Update

They also visited Waterstones on World Book Day to encourage and inspire them to read. As part of their RE theme on 'Belonging' year one attended the christening of baby Maisie Doll at Christchurch.

Year 2 visited Chirk Castle as part of their 'Castles and Rascals' theme. They also had a trip down the river on the Mersey Ferries and visited Liverpool Museum to support their 'Night At The Museum' theme. To further enhance this theme, they spent an amazing two days at CHET living as archaelogists and discovering dinosaur fossils!
