Out of School Sporting Achievements

Sarah, one of our Y3 superstars, attends Escape Dance Academy and Performing Arts She does gymnastics and disco freestyle and has recently won a trophy for dancer of the week! Sarah also attended a dance show and won a trophy for being the hardest worker! Sarah has just recently started competitions with her dance school - they take part in tournaments in places such as Wigan, St Helens and Manchester. Good Luck for your next competition Sarah!

Poppy, from Year 4, recently took part in a swimming competition in Salt Ayre Leisure Centre in Lancaster, as part of the Northwest Micro League. Points are accumulated over a series of competitions to determine who wins the league, and after this first meet, Liverpool Penguins (who Poppy swims for) are in 3rd place! Our star swimmer Poppy came 1st in the backstroke race, 2nd in the breaststroke, and 2nd in the freestyle relay race. Well done Poppy, and Good Luck to Liverpool Penguins for your upcoming meets! 
Mikolaj from Year 5 has been attending football sessions at Anfield Sports and Community Centre every Tuesday evening. After practising  a variety of skills, Mikolaj and his team mates play some competitive matches. The majority of the children attending these sessions are Polish, just like Mikolaj! We wish you luck for any future matches Mikolaj!
Charlotte, who is one of our Y5 pupils, attends Sefton Stars Basketball Training every week. She enjoys practising her skills and keeping fit.
Shaun, one of our Y5 pupils, was recently awarded a trophy in his kickboxing club, Hurricane. The trophy was given to recognise Shaun's effort in training. Well done Shaun!

Sporting Achievement Assembly Autumn 2015

On Monday 14th December, we held an assembly to celebrate the out of school hours sporting achievements of our children. Pupils brought in medals, trophies and certificates from a variety of sports, including football, martial arts, gymnastics, swimming and dance - we even have a horserider and an aerial gymnast in our midst!

This assembly highlighted how many talented sportsmen and sportswomen we have in our school! We are sure to see some of you in the Olympics or the Premier League in the future! Well done everybody!

Lexi from Year 2 attends South Sefton Gymnastics Club, along with Neve, who is also in Year 2. Both girls are very proficient gymnasts, and in November they won a competition with their floor routine - well done girls!

This month, Lexi was also awarded 'Gymnast of the Year' for her session - congratulations Lexi!

Lydia in Year 5 is a member of Hasha Karate school. On the 5th December she went to Wigan to get her Orange belt. She had to take part in a variety of kion cater movements and exercises in order to be awarded her belt. Well done Lydia!

Joseph, one of our Y4 pupils, is a member of Quest Tae Kwon Do. In November 2015, he entered a tournament and won two fights to get into the final. Well done Joseph!

In February, Joseph will be going to Germany to enter an important tournament with his team mates - good luck!

Millie in Y4 recently took part in a dance competition with her dance school 'Inspirations'. The girls performed their routine 'One Jump' very well, but unfortunately didn't place this time around. Good luck for your next competition Millie!

One of our Y5 superstars, Sophie, attends 'Airborne Academy Cheerleading' and she is currently working at a Level 2 Junior grade. In March next year, the Academy have a major competition in Blackpool - good luck guys!

Holly and Rebecca, both from Y5, recently participated in a dance competition with their troupe 'Time-Step School of Dance'. The school was very successful, with their 'Frozen' routine being awarded a 1st place prize, 'Caged Villains' receiving 2nd place, and their interpretation of 'Hansel & Gretel' being given a 3rd place award! Congratulations Holly and Bec!
Niccole from Y4 is a member of Loretta Legge Theatre School, and she is currently dancing at a Grade 1 in ballet. Niccole also studies drama at her theatre school.
