Spring Term 2015
This term we have been learning lots of new and exciting things. We have explored aspects of life in Ancient Greece through our theme 'Step Back In Time' and we have discovered that democracy was founded during this period. The Ancient Greeks produced lots of influential mathematicians such as Pythagoras and Euclid, as well as valuing the arts and theatre.
We have learned all about the different Ancient Greeks states and the differences between them. We looked closely at the states of Athens and Sparta.
This term our theme has been Properties of Materials. We have learned to classify materials and have investigated reversible and irreversible changes. Here are some examples of our work and observations.
This term we have developed our knowledge and understanding of many areas of mathematics including number, fractions, geometry and measures. Here are some examples of our work.
Our text this term is Street Child by Berlie Doherty. We have discussed lots of issues arising from the text about it was like to be poor in Victorian times. We have explored the language used by the author and used this to inform different genres of writing in class. We have researched and written a biography of Dr. Barnardo and written a persuasive letter in role to Queen Victoria.
Currently, we are making a virtual art gallery, using a green screen. Watch this space for updates!
