Our text for the Spring Term is 'The Fox' by Margaret Wild
We have been looking at the poem 'Hunting Fiery Tails'! After reading the poem we realised it was about fox hunting! We learnt the poem off by heart and performed it! Reading the poem led to a debate about whether we are for or against fox hunting!
We have begun to learn about fractions. Our task was to build exhibits for the Fraction museum and write down the fraction of the different colours.
Our Geography topic this half term is UK Geography. We have had lots of fun researching what countries and islands make up the British Isles and finding different cities on a map of the UK. Additionally, we have been looking at the population of a variety of different cities. Next, we started looking at the differences between villages and cities. Then, we started looking at our local area. We had great fun playing numerous games to help us understand Geographical symbols. We used some new software called Digimap to help us look how the local area has changed over time. We then used our artistic skills to draw the Liverpool skyline. Additionally, we used iconic images from Liverpool to create a collage of the Liverpool skyline.
In our music sessions we have been learning all about the composer Benjamin Britten and the songs he wrote for schools in the 1930's. Every song was accompanied by a piano! We learnt to sing the song Cuckoo and to play an accompaniment with a glockenspiel!
We have been learning all about the Romans! We used iMovie to create information videos all about the Romans!
