KS2 Intra Class Event

On Tuesday 18th July, all of the children in KS2 took part in a morning of competitive games against the other class in their year group - we called it 'Class V Class'! Each year group battled it out in rounders, basketball, dodgeball and tennis - the victorious classes were 3S, 4A & 4K (each class won in 2 of the games), 5K and 6G! The overall winning class, with the most points totaled altogether, was 5K! Well done to everyone!

Merseyside School Games - Tri-Golf

On Thursday 6th July, a team of golfers represented Sefton at the Merseyside School Games, which took place at Wavertree Sports Park. After participating in a range of golfing activities throughout the (very hot) day, our team were placed 7th out of 13 teams from all over the county! We are super proud of you guys!

Merseyside School Games - High 5s Netball

Following on from our great performance at the netball tournament, Bedford were given the opportunity to represent Sefton at the Merseyside School Games on Thursday 29th June! Our children played brilliantly in all of their matches and made us very proud! Well Done Guys!

Tri-Golf Tournament

On Thursday 22nd June a squad of 6 Y3/4 pupils and 6 Y5/6 pupils participated in a Tri-Golf Tournament at Aintree Golf Centre. The younger team represented Bedford in the morning, and they did very well against other schools from our local area! In the afternoon, our older team were awarded 2nd place in the tournament, and Joseph from Y6 had the best boys' score overall! We are very proud of all of you Team Bedford!

Boccia & New Age Kurling

On Tuesday 20th June, a team of pupils from Year 5 represented Bedford in 2 new sports - Boccia (which is similar to bowls) and New Age Kurling. All children participated in both sports, and after playing numerous matches against other local schools, Bedford were awarded 2nd place in our pool for both Boccia and Kurling! Well done Team Bedford!

Netball Tournament

On Wednesday 14th June, 10 children from Y5 and Y6 represented Bedford in a netball tournament at Savio High School. Our team played brilliantly in every match, following the rules carefully and working fantastically as a team! After playing 6 netball matches, Team Bedford were awarded 2nd place! Well done everyone!

Girls Euros Tournament

On Thursday 8th June, two squads of footballers - one from Y3/4 and one from Y5/6 - represented Bedford in a tournament to celebrate the Women's Euros, which will be held this Summer. The tournament took place at Goals, and our school were allocated the country of Scotland - our girls carried Scottish flags and had flags painted on their faces to help us get into the spirit of the tournament! Both of our teams played very well, and were a credit to our school. Well Done Team Bedford ('Team Scotland'!)

Quad Kidz

On Friday 19th May, 10 of our children represented Bedford in an athletics tournament at Litherland Sports Park. The tournament consisted of 4 events: a sprint, a distance run, a howler throw and a long jump, and each child had to compete in each to get a cumulative score. Our team did very well, and placed in the top half of the table overall. However, two of our superstars did very well, winning individual events: Liam, who completed the distance run in the fastest time, and Luis who was the quickest sprinter. Well done to all of Team Bedford!

LFC Academy Tournament

On Wednesday 17th May a team of Bedford footballers took part in a tournament at Liverpool Football Club's Academy in Kirkby. It was an amazing opportunity and our boys played very well in all of their games! Our promising young goalkeeper, David, was awarded 'Best Attitude' of the tournament - we are very proud of him! Well done to all of our boys!

Swimming Gala

On Friday 17th March, representatives form Years 5 & 6 went along to Crosby Leisure Centre to take part in a swimming gala along with a variety of other local schools. After competing in various events, Team Bedford emerged victorious in two events - Rebecca was awarded gold in the backstroke, and Laila received silver for the breaststroke. Congratulations girls, and well done to all who represented our school!

Indoor Football Tournament

On Friday 10th March, Mr Stafford and Mr Kendrew took a squad of Y5 & 6 players to The Hawthornes to take part in an indoor football tournament. Our boys played several matches against other local schools, not losing a single game - even coming back from a 4-0 deficit to draw 4-4! This meant that they made it to the overall final. Fantastically, Team Bedford were victorious! Well done boys!


On Friday 27th January, Bedford took part in another dodgeball competition at The Hawthornes School! Our team played very well, winning 3 of our matches. All of the children who represented Bedford were brilliant ambassadors for our school, and a good time was had by all! Well done Team Bedford!

KS2 Sportshall Athletics

On Friday 13th January, Bedford had some good luck instead of bad, when 26 children went along to a Sportshall Athletics tournament in The Hawthornes School. CHildren participated in a variety of track and field events, including sprint and distance races, speed bounce, javelin, chest push, long jump, triple jump, vertical jump, and obstacle relays. After a super performance from all of our athletes, who were also amazing ambassadors for Bedford, we were awarded 2nd place! Congratulations Team!


On Friday 25th November, a team of Y5/6 pupils represented Bedford in a Basketball tournament at The Hawthornes School. Throughout the afternoon, our children took part in numerous games against a variety of other schools, winning quite a few. A fun time was had by all, and our children were great ambassadors for Team Bedford - well done guys!

Our team played in numerous games, growing increasingly confident with each, and showing that they could work together as a team. All pupils enjoyed themselves, and were great ambassadors for Bedford. Well done guys!

Change 4 Life Festival

On Wednesday 16th November class 3B went along to The Hawthornes School to take part in a Change 4 Life multi sports event. All children were great ambassadors for our school, and they enjoyed themselves immensely. Well done 3B!

Additionally, 2 of our Super Sports Leaders were also at the event, after completing Bronze Ambassador training in the morning. Both Emma and Kieran were outstanding Bedford ambassadors, and shone as Leaders! We are so proud of you both - well done! 

Football Team

On Friday 11th November, our football team played their first league game on home turf! After going 1-0 up with a goal from Kieron in Y6, Bedford were unfortunate to lose the game 2-1. Our players were great ambassadors for our school however, and they played really well. Thank you also to our supporters, who were on the sidelines (even though it was freezing!). Good luck for your next game Team Bedford!
