Champion of Champions Event

On Thursday 16th July we took 4 sports teams to represent our school in a special Champion of Champions event! This event, which was held at Litherland Sports Park, incorporated football, dodgeball, athletics and rounders. Congratulations to team Bedford, who won 3 out of the 4 events, emerging as the overall Champion of Champions!

Merseyside School Games 2015

On Friday 3rd July, our successful Y6 tri-golf team went along to Wavertree Sports Park to represent Sefton in the Merseyside School Games. After participating in a variety of skill based golf activities, we finished in 4th place overall, out of teams from all over Merseyside! We are very proud of you Team Bedford!

Class V Class Competitions

On Monday 29th June 2015, our KS2 children took part in Level 1 competitions in 4 different sports: rounders, dodgeball, basketball and athletics. This event was organised and run by a team from Active Sefton, who are based at Litherland Sports Park. Throughout the afternoon, all children were able to represent their class in team activities, and the class with the most points in each year group were named the winners! The victorious classes in each year group were: 3K, 4A, 5D... and Y6 was a draw, with both 6C and 6F winning 2 of the events each! A fun and active afternoon was had by all of Team Bedford - well done guys!

Girls World Cup Tournament

On Monday 29th June 2015, Mr Stafford took a team of ladies to participate in a special tournament, which was in honour of this year's Women's World Cup! Whilst they were there, our girls managed to meet Natasha Dowie, who plays for Liverpool Ladies and also England - she even got her photograph taken with them!

After playing against a number of other teams, our girls, who were representing Canada in the tournament, were placed 3rd overall. Well done Team Bedford!

Tri-Golf Tournament

On Wednesday 24th June 2015, a team of golfers from KS2 participated in a tri-golf tournament at Aintree Golf Centre. In the morning, 6 pupils from Y3 and 4 took part in their tournament - and Team Bedford were victorious! The afternoon saw the Y5 and 6 tournament, in which our pupils were also victorious! Therefore we won the overall tournament and brought home a fantastic trophy, and individual medals! Well done Team Bedford!


Our Year 6 team will now be taking part in the Merseryside Sainsburys School Games tournament, representing the whole of Sefton. We are extremely proud of them and wish them luck in their next tournament!

Cricket Tournament


On Friday 12th June, our cricket team took part in a tournament at Bootle Cricket Club. After playing against a variety of schools, Bedfor emerged as the South SEfton cricket champions for 2015! Congratulations team Bedford!

Short Tennis Tournament


On Wednesday 3rd June, four of our Year 3 and Year 4 pupils entered a short tennis tournament at The Hawthornes school.  After playing a multitude of matches Bedford placed 2nd in their group.  Well done team!

Quad Kids

On Friday 22nd May 2015, 8 of our children represented Bedford in a Quad Kids athletics tournament, which comprised of a sprint, a distance run, a long jump and a throw. Out of 12 teams, our amazing athletes came 2nd - well done Team Bedford!

On Thursday 21st May 2015, a team of Bedford sports stars took part in a dodgeball tournament at Dunes Leisure Centre in Southport. We managed to win lots of games and got to the final, but unfortunately we were beaten. Our team played brilliantly and had lots of fun! Congratulations Team Bedford!

TAG Rugby Tournament


During heavy rain on Monday 30th March 2015, our rugby team took part in a tournament at Hall Road. The team played very well, winning some games and drawing others! Well done Team Bedford!

TAG Rugby Tournament

On Friday 13th March 2015 class 3K went to the Hawthornes school to take part in a Change 4 Life event. During the afternoon, the children took part in a variety of physical activities, such as speed bounce, skipping, hula-hooping and cup-stacking.


Throughout that same day, 2 of our Y5 pupils, Evie and Joel, trained as Bronze Sports Ambassadors, and they led the activities for the younger children in the afternoon.


We are very proud of all of our Y3 pupils, and congratulations to Evie and Joel, who passed their training with flying colours!

Sports Hall Athletics


On Friday 23rd January 2015 our athletics team took part in a sportshall athletics competition at The Hawthornes. After taking part in a variety of track and field events, in which we were very successful, we were awarded 4th place overall out of 12 teams. Well done Team Bedford!

Fun Run


On Friday the 7th of November, pupils from years 3 - 6 represented Bedford in a fun run at Litherland Sports Park.  Even though the rain poured down, our children still managed to come second overall. Well done Team Bedford!

Cycling at Hillside


On Tuesday 11th November the whole of year 6 took part in a static cycling event at Hillside High School!  After all children had completed a time trial, our fastest pupils progressed to competing against 5 other schools from the South Sefton Borough.  Happily, Josh, Thomas, Billy and Rhys triumphed over the competition and won the tournament.

Year 3 multi-skills event


On Friday the 28th of November, the whole of year 3 went over to Hillside High School to take part in a multi-skills competition. During the morning, the children took part in a variety of physical activities, including basketball, speed bounce and skipping. 


One of our teams was fortunate enough to win the whole event, accumulating the most points overall.  Congratulations team!

Basketball tournament


Congratulations to our year 5 and 6 basketball team, who reached the final of a tournament held at The Hawthornes on Friday 28th of November.
