Bootle Schools Presentation Evening
Last week the school football team were invited to Bootle Town Hall to collect their Peter Dowd winners medals. It is the first time in Bedford history that the football team have won this prestigious award. Mr Stafford and parents were on hand to give a huge cheer when the schools name was called. Mr Stafford could not contain his pride saying, "the boys have been fantastic this year, I am extremely proud of all their achievements".
On top of that, every year each school in the district nominates a sportsman of the year. This season, the very deserving winner from our school was Jamie Edwards. Well done young man, an extremely worthy recipient.
A Goodison Park Experience
Earlier this month our football team had the privilege of being balls at Goodison Park, home of Everton Football Club. 8 of the squad were able to attend and witness 2 excellent cup finals. The squad, again made Mr Stafford proud, "The boys conducted themselves in the usual Bedford manner tonight, I am happy that they were given the opportunity to do this."
Squad Members Success
Everyone at Bedford would like to say a huge congratulations to one of our football team, Josh Halliwell. Earlier this month, he played in 2 cup finals, one at Burscough FC and one at Southport FC. On both occasions the team were victorious, with Josh playing an instrumental role in ensuring the cup went home with him.
Bedford Football Team manager said. "It is great to see children from my team doing so well away from school."

Peter Dowd Cup Final 03.11.14
For the first time ever our Football team have won the Peter Dowd Cup. After winning a tournament at St Benedicts, we played Great Crosby in the cup final. We scored in the first half, but the opposition scored close to full time. No goals were scored in extra time, so the game was to be decided by penalties. Triumphantly, our boys were successful.
Team Manager Mr Stafford said, "I am extremely proud of the team and wish to thank all parents for their continued support!"
Well done Bedford!
