Out Of School Sporting Achievements

Niccole from Year 5 recently took her dance exams with Loretta Legge Theatre School. She achieved a Grade 1 Distinction in both Modern and Tap. Well done Nicci!
Aaron, who is in Year 5, recently participated in a cricket tournament at Ainsdale. Unfortunately, Bootle Cricket Team were beaten in the quarter finals, but well done to Aaron and his team!
David, who is one of our Year 5 superstars, recently attended a presentation for his football team, Brittania Juniors. As well as his team winning the Walton League, David was also awarded Manager's Player of the Year! Well done David!

Emma, who is in Year 4, is a member of Sefton TAGB Taekwondo School. She trains with her family at Kirkdale Community Centre, Litherland NAC and Crosby Leisure Centre. Training time in between gradings is usually 3-6 months, and grading usually take place in Edge Hill University. Emma entered her first Taekwondo competition in February of this year, where she did very well. Emma is currently a blue belt in Taekwondo. Well done Em!


Additionally, Emma recently took part in a triathlon event, which ran in conjunction with Sefton Aiming High Active Sefton TEAM. The event was to raise money to enable disabled children to go on short breaks with their families. Training for the triathlon took place over 10 weeks at Crosby Leisure Centre and Litherland Sports Park.

Recently, two of our Y5 superstars, Emma and Elliemay went to Flamingo Land to take part in a girls football tournament with their team 'Goalz and Girls'. The team played extremely well and reached the final, where they were unfortunately beaten. HOwever, the girls were awarded amazing trophies, and we are all very proud of them!

Additionally, these young ladies played in another tournament in memory of a girls named Zoe Tynan, where they took part in a tense penalty shoot-out to get into the final. Luckily, Elliemay was a fantastic goalkeeper, and only conceded one goal, meaning that 'Goalz and Girls' were in the final - they then went on to win the tournament, with Emma as their captain leading the way! Well done girls!

Lexi, who is a Y3 sporting superstar, is a member of S J Gymnastics. She trains every Saturday at Bootle Leisure Centre. Lexi is part of the display team, which means that she has addditional training on Friday evenings. Additionally, Lexi is in the competition squad. What a talented young lady! Lexi has competed in a variety of gymnastics competitions, and she always places well. Keep up the hard work Lexi!
Charlotte, who is in Y6, plays basketball for Merseyside Mavericks. She trains on Mondays and Tuesdays, and her team will be going to the National League from September. Great work Charlotte!
Luke, who is part of our Year 5 team, is a member of Hurricane Kickboxing. His current grade is a green belt with black stripe. Luke has also been awarded one bronze and one gold medal in competitions, as well as two gold trophies. Well done Luke - we are really proud of you!
In the Summer, Jessica, who is in Year 5, ran the Race for Life in aid of cancer research UK. She ran the distance in approximately 26 minutes, and raised £100 for the charity. Well done Jess!
Lillie Mae, who is in Year 5, is a member of Vegas morris dancing troupe. She dances in the Tiny 2 section, but Vegas als have Babies, Tots and Senior sections. They train on a Thursday and dance out at competitions on Sundays. Lillie Mae has recently participated in Championships with her troupe. 
Sarah, one of our Year 4 stars, dances for Escape Dance Academy and Performing Arts, which she joined in January 2015. Recently, Sarah has begun entering competitions, where she has been very successful, as she has come away with 8 trophies, ranging from 6th place to 1st place! On Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th December, Sarah took part in a major dance competition in Blackpool Tower. Although she only had a few recalls, it was an amazing experience for Sarah, and she enjoyed dancing with her friends. We are very proud of you Sarah - keep on dancing!
On Saturday 22nd January, Sarah took part in dance competitions at Southport Floral Hall Pavilion. Sarah competed in 3 sections, Grand Prix, Fast Dance and Slow Dance, and she went on to win the Fast Dance section - well done Sarah! She has now moved up a level (to be a 'starter') and her next competition will take place on 5th February. Good Luck!
Tyra, one of our Year 5 superstars, is a member of Dance Passion. She attends Jazz and Ballet classes on Tuesdays and Latin and Ballroom every Thursday. Recently, Tyra entered a competition in which she was placed 4th, as well as participating in a dance show with her group. Tyra is now looking forward to a big dance competition, which will be held in Blackpool. Good luck Tyra!

Laila is one of many Year 6 girls who go to cheerleading with Airborn Nitros every Monday. She cheers for a Youth Level 1 team, and not long ago they entered a competition in Blackpool called ICC Summer Jam. They received a medal for participating and a large trophy for placing 5th overall.

Future competitions for Laila's team include ICC Northerns in January, Cheer Extreme in March and Jamfest Europe, which will be held in the Echo Arena. Good luck to all involved!

Frankie, who is in Year 3, is a member of Belfry JFC. He attends training sessions every Wednesday at Bootle Stadium, and he plays matches on Sundays. His hard work during training sessions has obviously paid off, as he was recently awarded 'Man of the Match' for his team. Well done Frankie!
Niccole, one of our Year 5 superstars, attends Lorretta Legge Theatre School. She does modern and tap dance classes every Tuesday. Nicci wears her blue suit for modern dancing.
On Friday 25th November, Kieran (one of our Y5 pupils) completed his black belt testing in martial arts. Additionally, on Saturday 26th November, Kieran took part in a tournament for his school Kuk Sool Won. He gained 3 medals from 4 competitions - 1 silver in sparring and 2 pewters (4th place) in techniques and staff spinning. Well done Kieran, you are a star and we are really proud of you! 
Our amazing Poppy, who is in Year 5, has been swimming competitively for a while now, and has numerous awards and accomplishments to her name. She recently received a bronze medal for the 200m breaststroke in the City of Liverpool Tadpoles Gala. She achieved a time of 4:55 and is currently the 5th fastest 9yr old in the North West! Poppy also received two Liverpool and District times in this gala. We are so proud of you Poppy - keep up the good work!
Recently, Poppy took part in the Liverpool Penguins Club Championships. She was awarded Silver medals in 200m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke and 50m breaststroke. She also won Bronze medals in the 50m backstroke and 50m freestyle races. Well done Poppy!
Elliemay, one of our Year 5 pupils, is a member of a local football team called 'Goalz n Girls', where she plays in goal. She was recently awarded trophies - one of which was for participating enthusiastically all season, and the other one was 'Manager's Player of the Year'! Well done Elliemay - we are proud of you! Keep on working hard!
Rhianna and Hannah, who are both in Y5, are members of North Liverpool Dance Academy. They practice three times a week, and take part in a variety of dance shows and competitions throughout the year. The girls recently participated in 'Dancetastic Fantastic', for which they were awarded a medal and group t.shirts. Well done girls!
Thomas, who is in Y4, plays for Crosby United Football Team. He trains every Saturday, and his hard work has paid off, as he was recently awarded 'Man of the match' for his team! Well done Thomas!
