School Clubs & Courses
At Bedford Primary we value our work as an Extended School and we are committed to helping our families balance work and family commitments, supporting our children with their learning and offering a broader range of experiences and interests out of hours. We are very proud of our ever increasing range of sports and non-sporting clubs, events and activities and we are committed to offering our services and facilities to our children, families and the wider local community.

After School Clubs
We are proud of the range of activities that we offer our children at Bedford Primary. Our objective is to offer something for everybody throughout the course of the year in our after school clubs, focusing on sporting activities and creative endeavours. We believe that activities after school are equally as important as those during schools hours and we encourage all of our children to take part in after school clubs.
In April 2016 we established the Bedford Academy of Arts with the intention of delivering a series of after school clubs with a broad appeal of creative and artistic subjects. These subjects have included Fashion & Textiles, Creative Crafting, Bedford Bakers, The Garden Gang and Art Club.
We regularly have pop-up shops where we sell goods and produce from our clubs and our garden. We have recently taken delivery of our 'Bedford Barrow' which we will be rolling out regularly to display our goods to sell to our families. All money raised through our pop-ups are for our school B.E.S.T Charity. The children who take part in the clubs plan, prepare, price and sell the goods providing them with invaluable business and life skills. We are certain we have some talented entrepreneurs in the making.
We offer a range of clubs free of charge and for some clubs there is a small charge, normally of £2 per session, which includes all materials and equipment necessary for the club.
At the end of the Summer Term, all of the children involved in our after school clubs work together to produce a Finale Show which is performed in front of our Bedford families and friends. This is always one of the most exciting nights of the year in Bedford's calendar and brings together all the talents of the children to showcase to the world! Our Bedford boys and girls work so hard on their performances for the Finale Show - backstage and front of house - and we are so proud of their achievements.
In July 2018 we performed the Finale Show at Bootle Town Hall in front of a full house. It was a magical evening watching our wonderful children take to the stage and showcase their talents.
Our after school clubs also provide us with an opportunity to identify children who are gifted and talented in subjects outside of the school curriculum. We work closely with our Club Leaders to identify these children and ensure that their talents are nurtured. We have encouraged a number of our children to pursue their sporting talents in and out of school. We are also very proud that several of our children have joined Theatre Production companies and have starred in productions in theatres in Liverpool, Southport and Manchester.
