School Clubs & Courses

At Bedford Primary there is always something going on and that’s the way we like it! Scroll down and you will find links to our latest timetable of extra curricular activities taking place at our school.

We value our work as an Extended School, this means we are committed to helping our families balance work and family commitments, supporting our children with their learning and offering a broader range of experiences and interests out of hours. We are very proud of our ever increasing range of sports and non-sporting clubs, events and activities and we are committed to offering our services and facilities to our children, families and the wider local community.

For after school childcare or for activities outside of school you may also want to make enquiries with one of our community partners.

After School Clubs

At Bedford Primary we are proud of the range of activities that we offer our children. Our objective is to offer something for everybody throughout the course of the year in the after school clubs, focusing on sporting activities and creative endeavours.

In April 2016 we established the Bedford Academy of Arts with the intention of delivering a series of after school clubs with a broad appeal of creative and artistic subjects. These subjects have included Fashion & Textiles, Creative Crafting, Bedford Bakers, The Garden Gang and Art Club. Feedback from our children - and regular 100 percent attendance at the clubs every week - has shown that the clubs are delivering what the pupils want from their clubs.

We regularly have pop-up shops where we sell goods and produce from our clubs and our garden. We have recently taken delivery of our 'Bedford Barrow' which we will be rolling out regularly to display our goods to sell to our families. All money raised through our pop-ups are for our school B.E.S.T Charity. The children who take part in the clubs plan, prepare, price and sell the goods providing them with invaluable business and life skills. We are certain we have some talented entrepreneurs in the making!

At the end of the Summer Term, all of our Academy of Arts students come together to produce a Finale Show which is performed in front of our Bedford families and friends. This is always one of the most exciting nights of the year in Bedford's calendar and brings together all the talents of the children to showcase to the world! Our Bedford boys and girls work so hard on their performances for the Finale Show - backstage and front of house - and we are so proud of their achievements.
