  • A very special Christmas service

    Fri 23 Dec 2016

The whole school attended the annual Christingle service at Christ Church taken by the Reverend Josie.

'Christingle' means 'Christ Light' and is and is used to celebrate Jesus Christ as the light of the world.

Two children from each class were chosen to carry a Christingle in Church and all the children held their own glow stick to represent the light of Christ.

Year 2 and Year 6 led our Nativity this year and were amazing and all the children sang beautifully.

  • Faye is our Shining Star

    Mon 12 Dec 2016

Our very own Bedford Girl Faye B from Year 3 beat off stiff competition from 160 nominees to win the recent Sefton Shining Stars Catherine Strickland Award for Bravery 2016.

The Sefton Shining Stars is organised by Sefton CVS to recognise and celebrate the achievements of Sefton's children and young people up to the age of 16. The emphasis of the awards is on achievements outside the normal curriculum areas, and rewarding children and young people who may not normally gain recognition.

Faye's Dad passed away very tragically in January 2015 whilst Faye was 7 and in Year 2 at school. Since that time Faye has shown resilience in every part of her school life. Despite her personal challenges, Faye managed to complete Year 2 with flying colours and is a very positive role model in her Class and Year Group.

'We are so proud to have Faye as part of the Bedford Team and we are full of admiration of the compassion and sensitivity she shows,' says Mrs Whitehead, Pastoral Manager at Bedford. 'She has always been our shining star but now she has received the recognition she absolutely deserves.'

  • Santa Dash 2016

    Mon 05 Dec 2016

Our Santa Dash for 2016 went with a festive bang as the children entered into the spirit of the Christmas fun. Despite the rather chilly weather, our children took to the Dash with enthusiasm, looking resplendent in their Christmas jumpers, hats, tinsel and baubles.

All of the children made a real effort running around the field for our B.E.S.T Charity. Thank you to the children and particularly to their families for making such an effort to make the event a success.
