Bedford Primary was rocking last night as our Easter celebrations started with the school disco.
The children came dressed to impress and danced their socks off to the sensational sounds on the wheels of steel by DJ Mr Stafford. There was even an eggstra special appearance from none other than the Easter Bunny - who impressed the children with his moves on the dance floor.
We raised over £1000 for our B.E.S.T Charity which goes towards helping our children and families.
A special thank you to Asda for its contribution and to the B.E.S.T Friends who supported us before and after the event.
Year 1 and Year 2 children who attend our after school Creative Crafts club have taken up-cycling to a whole new level by making shoes from newspaper.
The children used their own feet as a template for their shoes and used newspaper to mould the design. They then used modrock plaster of paris, which was left to dry and enabled the children to get creative and paint their shoes in their own unique styles. The results are amazing and all of the shoes look brilliant.
Watch out Jimmy Choo - Bedford's Creative Crafters' creations are coming to get you!
Year 1 pupils took their teddy bears for a very special
outing to the Community Library at Hugh Baird College.
The children and their bears enjoyed a wide range of
activities during their visit, including dressing up as their favourite characters, colouring and reading some of the lovely books in the library. One of the favourite activities was a trip in a mock airplane cabin—the children were very excited to be involved in this activity!
The teddy bears had a sleepover at the Library where they were treated to a trip to the beauty salon, the hairdresser and other pampering activities. The teddy bears were returned to their owners the next day and said they had loads of fun at the sleepover!
Bedford boys and girls were given a special treat on World Book Day with a visit from local author and poet Ged Thompson who read from his lovely book Middle Earth Magic.
The children were transported to Middle Earth, a magical place made up of fairies, trolls and leprechauns.
The treats kept coming when the children were allowed to wear their pyjamas and slippers for maximum comfort – and enjoyed popcorn and hot chocolate whilst listening to the stories!
