Attendance

WAKE UP, RISE AND SHINE,     BEDFORD STARTS AT

 QUARTER TO NINE!

 Miss school, miss out!

Regular Attendance is vital if your child is to truly succeed and reach their true potential. The Pastoral Support Team at Bedford Primary work very closely with our families and key outside agencies to promote good attendance.

If your child is absent, it is important that you notify school on the first day of their absence and keep us updated, daily (before 8.30 am) throughout their absence.

How can I report an absence?

  • You can call school on 0151-922-1467 and speak to the team. The School Office is manned from 8am to 4.30pm daily.
  • Via our Arbor App.

For welfare reasons, our Pastoral Team will contact any family whose child is absent and have not contacted school. If contact cannot be established then a First Day Response visit will be carried out.

Better together - let us know how we can help.

Regular school attendance ensures that children get the best possible start in life. Good attendance supports learning, the development of social skills and friendships, as well as building good habits that are essential for adult life. The years spent at primary school lay the vital foundations of a child's life.  We do know however that some children find attending school more difficult than others. Whatever the attendance or punctuality challenge is,  we are here to listen, offer support and remove barriers.

Together we can make the biggest difference to your child and to your family. Bedford Primary School is also a Team Around the School (TAS) school.  We have two amazing practitioners, Ellie Benton and Yvonne Rigby. The Team Around The School (TAS) approach involves the right people coming together to ensure that you and your family receive the help you need at the earliest possible point. Early support and intervention is key. Just some of the areas they can help with (alongside attendance) are shown below. For more information about TAS, click on the information leaflet in the guidance and key paperwork section for parents and carers below or visit their website for more information.
