Helping Your Child at Home:

Reading:

Bedford is a reading school.  We place books and high quality texts at the heart of our curriculum.  Confident and fluent reading is the key that opens many doors in learning and life.  We cannot stress enough how important regular reading practice is.  Finding books or other reading materials that your child enjoys is key to finding success.

Online Safety:

What should I do if I see something upsetting online?

Stop – If you see something you don’t like, then don’t click on it. If something appears during a video or article you are viewing, close it.

Think – Remember, you are safe and in control.  Don’t respond to any messages which make you feel upset of uncomfortable.  It is important not to share or pass on anything upsetting.  Anything you share can easily be seen online.

Share – If you find anything upsetting then make sure you TELL someone. A              trusted adult will be able to help you block it and report it effectively.

2021 Leavers Awards:

Due to current restrictions, we have sadly not been able to welcome parents to our annual Year 6 Leavers Service.

Under normal circumstances, this is an opportunity for us all to get together and celebrate all our wonderful year 6 pupils as they come to the end of their primary school journey. It is also the time we recognise individuals who have shone in certain areas during their time at Bedford and for staff members to present these superstars with special awards. This year, we have had to do things a little differently but staff members from across the school still wanted to play their part in acknowledging the winners.

Please scroll down to find out the winner for each award. Parents, we hope this goes a small way towards making up for not being there in person...
