Fundraising & B.E.S.T Friends

B.E.S.T. (Bedford’s Enrichment & Support Trust) is our school’s registered charity. B.E.S.T. was set up in January 2008 to help fund facilities and resources for the children and families of Bedford Primary and the wider local community.

Our school charity needs your support!

If your child attends our school or you live, work or run a business locally and you can spare a few hours every now and again to support the work of our BEST charity, please let us know. Whether you have links to local businesses, bake cakes, are willing to sell raffle tickets, help out at a school disco or have new ideas and suggestions for events and activities that you think our families would enjoy, we would welcome your support.

In addition, if you work in a bank we would be delighted to hear from you as our fundraising efforts could potentially be match funded. Please contact the School Office if this is something you could help us with.

We welcome parents, friends and family in to school to be part of our fundraising. Links between school and home are key to our success, so please consider being part of the B.E.S.T team at Bedford.

Details of future B.E.S.T Friend’s meetings will be posted on this site, on our Twitter page and in our school newsletter, The Bugle, which is published weekly.

Just some of our B.E.S.T Events During The Past 12 months

Cinema Night - there was great excitement in school when we announced our first ever cinema night. Our children enjoyed watching 'Toy Story 4' to catch up on the adventures of Woody and his friends. We all agreed Cinema Nights will now be a regular fixture on our list of fundraising activities.

Charity Collection at Asda - we spent a super Saturday in Asda on the first Saturday of December to raise money for our charity. Once again, the people of our community were so generous and kind to us and went that extra mile to donate to our cause. Special shout out to Colette, the Community Champion at Asda Bootle, for her efforts and help to make the day happen.

Christmas Gift Stall on the Bedford Barrow - our children exhibited their entrepreneurial skills by setting up the Bedford Barrow to sell Christmas gifts to raise money for B.E.S.T. The children were involved in the buying, marketing and selling of the gifts and implemented many skills learned in theory in class and put them into practise. We are very proud of their achievements!

Mother's Day gifts - our children were excited to contribute to our charity and receive a lovely gift-wrapped gift for their Mum's, Nan's, Aunt's and special people in their lives.

School Disco - our children dusted down their disco shoes and took to the dance floor with their friends to have fun in abundance!

Christmas Wreaths - our Garden Gang worked in conjunction with students from Hugh Baird College to design and make some amazing Christmas wreaths. We worked in conjunction with the students from Hugh Baird, our local FE college, who brought their expertise to making the wreaths look extra special. We sold the wreaths from our Bedford Barrel to families with all funds raised going towards B.E.S.T.

Christmas & Easter Bingo - our families and friends never fail to amaze us with their generosity when it comes to raising funds. Our bingo is always a favourite with families and this year's Easter & Christmas Bingo was no exception - thank you so much for your support.

Santa Dash

Our children were invited to bring in a £1 and wear a Christmas jumper or something 'Christmassy' and do a dash round the school field to raise funds. Everyone was so enthusiastic and helped to raise money for our charity. Well done Bedford boys and girls (and staff!).

A trip to the Pantomime at the Echo Arena

School was buzzing with excitement on the day that we all went to the pantomime. Everyone from school travelled to the venue by coach, complete with our snacks and sweets, and settled in to our comfy seats to watch this amazing show. Did we have a brilliant time? Oh yes we did!
